I let the professionals do it

And thank goodness I did. My wonderful friend from college VOLUNTEERED to take these pictures-and they are awesome :)

Most of these pictures look alike, but I couldn't narrow it down to my favorites, so I decided to enjoy them all :)

On the way to Halloween!

A couple of years ago I did an "On the way to Christmas"activity that had me doing something daily with my children during the month of December as we counted down to Christmas. Well I just had a blast and hopefully my kids did too! Since I was still recovering last year from Seths birth I didn't do the countdown, but this year I am all fired up! More so actually since I decided since I had so much fun during Christmas why not extend it to the whole Holiday season? Maybe a little overkill, but we are having fun :) I have been slow to put my pictures up which is why there is a photo overload.

I am not very creative, so when I decide to do "Crafts" they usually involve baking. Here we started out by making pumpkin bread. It was a HUGE fail, but the kids were awesome putting it together :)

So excited-just to be so disapointed. The bread fell and was pretty gross... So no picture of the finished product.
Hot dog mummy's. These were a success! The boys loved wrapping them, and enjoyed them even more as lunch.
Dirt dessert. Yeah I think this was the kids favorite dessert EVER. We made it during F.H.E and the kids were excited that they got to eat candy AND pudding AND cookies. I can't say I blame them.
Today we made Monster Masks. I think this is one of the few things I have made without food involved :) The boys had so much fun and it was touching to see how much they treasured the masks they made. Both boys went to sleep with them snuggled next to them.

And there are lots more things I just forgot to take pictures of. Here's to loving the holiday season!

Cookers and Diggers

The boys have been begging me to go play at the park for days, so when it warmed up to the high 50's we set out to the airplane park. It's an awesome walk these days because it takes us right by the new Temple site and the boys get to watch the trucks.

Lately (inspired by all the work at the Temple) the boys LOVE taking their toys and digging in the dirt. Or finding sticks and digging in the dirt. So almost as soon as we arrive both boys grab sticks and tell me that they are diggers. That lasted about 5 minutes before MD came and informed me that He was a digger, but that Hyrum was a cooker. Hyrum agreed and told me that he was making me vegetable soup-Salad vegetable soup :) And when he brought me a sample to taste he told me I was suppose to say "Eww Gross!-Like that"

Seth hung out in his stroller for awhile, but got antsy half way through so I let him crawl around.

On our way back MD morphed into a Ninja, and Hyrum decided he was too cool for school.

Temple Ground breaking

Today was the long awaited Payson Temple ground breaking. It was rainy and nasty outside, and I almost felt sorry for those lucky guys going to stand out in the cold, but then I remembered they got to GO to the ground breaking, where as me, who lives right around the corner from the Temple lot had to drive farther away to watch the ground breaking in the Stake center. Well honestly I am joking. I am so grateful we are having a beautiful Temple built so close to our home, and it was wonderful watching the whole thing on screen snuggled next to my boys, one of which who snuggled in too, and fell asleep. The talks were wonderful and my boys were full of questions. Afterwards, we drove home, Snapped a picture, ordered pizza and visited with my wonderful in-laws, who drove down to spend some time with us.

We had to bribe the boys with suckers just to get them to look at the camera. Anyone have picture taking hints?
Even with their happy faces, they are my handsome boys.

Oh we gave the boys suckers after a shopping trip and later that evening MD came in Crying. I asked him what was wrong and he sobbed "My sucker is gone!" Feeling a little bad for him I asked "What happened to it?" He replied "I ate it." Kind of surprised I asked "Well why are you crying?" Looking at me with his big blue eyes he said "Because I don't have any more sucker to eat!"
Poor MD :)

My first pair of stitches

Little Seth monkey went from Happy, Carefree, Loving-my-long-johns this:
To this:
Ok not that you can see much, but today has been a little traumatic to our 10 month old. It's a little easier to see if you enlarge the picture. Seth has the attitude that he can do whatever he wants when he wants to. If you try to stop him he screams and kicks and doesn't stop until you distract him with something else. That bit of information is not terribly important, but does explain his little dare devil stunts. Today after lunch, I went to grab my squealing baby from his high chair just to realize he had pooped out. Not just out-somehow the poop found the cracks in the high chair and I discovered a puddle of poop on the floor. Lovely. So of course this baby was put in the tub for some mandatory bath time. I sat about two feet in front of him reading while he splashed around and giggled. He played for about 10 minutes before I looked up to see him pull himself up, slip, and crash his head down on the side of the tub. He hit so hard that I grabbed him before I realized that there was blood. Lots of blood, and it looked like it was coming from his eye. Michael was at school and I realized I had to take him to the doctors immediately. I took MD and Hyrum to our neighbors house, called the doctors and let them know we were on our way and left a brief note for Michael before jumping in the car. As I drove down the road I kept glancing at my baby whose eye was STILL bleeding (I had tried to clean it up a little, though I was scared to put any pressure on his eye) and saw how battered he looked. I felt like crying but Luckily I didn't, since I am sure that would have been just what Seth needed. Almost as soon as I arrived in the office, the nurse pulled me in a room, got the doctor and they did all the tests to rule out 1) Brain damage, 2) Broken bones, or 3) eye damage. Luckily Seth had NONE of those but after they cleaned him up completely, we realized he had slit his eye lid clean through. Like to his eyeball. Of course they said he needed stitches, so we numbed his poor little eye, and about 45 minutes later they stitched his eye lid up.

He was pretty traumatized and has clung to me for the rest of the day. Poor baby. I knew hospital visits were in my future with all these boys, but I honestly can say I thought they would be sometime after their first few years.
