Anemia

At my 27 week appointment I had a nice little gift waiting for me: Anemia
It wasn't a big surprise-I actually hate eating most meats unless the meats are used for flavoring to OTHER foods. And I had been feeling a tad bit exhausted lately
Michaels solution-A big hamburger from 5 Guys Burger and Fries! (Best hamburger ever!)
Unfortunately the thought of eating another burger, or any other meat for that matter, makes me want to hurl. I see iron pills in my future. GAG!

The kids LOVE going out. And Seth loves having his picture taken. My only child who will smile on demand. Of course it's not a real smile :)
Hyrum at least looked in my direction when I asked for a smile
 MD just ignored me
Who is this man in disguise? No Hyrum didn't get glasses, he is just making sure no one knows who he REALLY is :)

I see this picture and can't help but think that in a year there will be 4 boys climbing up this hill.
*Side note- Seth is getting more and more vocal, though I didn't realize just HOW vocal until the other day he when he got in trouble for leaving his bed. When his daddy started walking towards him Seth turned tail and started screaming " I Da Baby! I da Baby!!!" He's been using that excuse ever since.
 Handsome.
Seth was a little upset when he couldn't figure out how to roll down the hill like his brothers.
His daddy decided to help him out :)
Hyrum tried to be a speed bump and got steamrolled.

Stripling Warriors-Mamma's Boys

It's no secret that my boys are superheroes disguised as mild/wild mannered Huish boys. Everyday they are off in some new disguise to save a princess (ME :) or to defeat the current enemy.
Since I am responsible for keeping them looking legit I get to come up with some of their new alter ego's.
I decided a few weeks ago that they needed someone REAL to portray so I decided to create the Captain Moroni suit. We presented them to the boys at Family Home Evening while we talked about "Putting on the armor of God"
That night the boys had a new quest.
Instead of fighting Monsters and Bad guys these boys ran around fighting "Sin" (Their choice, not mine)
My favorite quote of the night was from MD who after swinging his sword and blocking with his shield complained that "Sin won't stop getting up after I knock it down!" (Mind you he was coming up with this as he went along)
His Daddy told him to use his shield of Faith
After many more whacks at "sin" MD decided he was the victor.
Hyrum fought a little more quietly but the result was the same.

This looks like something off the old movie "Saturdays Warriors" to me :)
Seth getting in on the action-We have a part sheriff/storm trooper/ Stripling warrior.
The "fight" moved outside

Off to save the world
I have been reading about the 2000 stripling warriors and their story has touched my heart in a way that it never has before. I think realizing that the majority of my time and energy will be raising my own latter day warriors has made me relate more to this story. I think it is a wonderful example of young men, but even more I think it is such a wonderful tribute to the potential mothers have in being an influence on their families and their communities.
-Alma ch 56 vs 47-48
47)  "Now they never had fought, yet they did not fear death; and they did think more upon the liberty of their fathers than they did upon their lives; yea, they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them."
 48) "And they rehearsed unto me the words of their mothers, saying: We do not doubt our mothers knew it."

Generations

4 generations of Huish's.
This trip was wonderful! I love visiting with family and my boys just made themselves at home-and really that is the true mark of a good trip for us. If the boys have fun, so do I!
I am extremely grateful to have married into such a welcoming family.
Side note: The boys basically picked out their own clothes. MD swaggered in after I told him to get out of his swim clothes with his hands in his pockets and told me that he was a sharp dressed man. AGREED!
Our next stop was to the rail road

I have some photogenic children.
After the tour Mom and Dad treated us to some ice cream.
The boys are high on excitement and sugar-They look a bit crazy here :)
Hmm and this is a favor I did for Michael. It's not a very good job, but Michael thought it would be hilarious to switch everyones heads.
Enjoy

Talent

MD: "Mommy for my birthday can I have a trumpet?" (I Love it-I mean what 5 year old asks for a trumpet for his birthday?)
Luckily his daddy played when he was a kid and had one in storage.
All the children took turns blaring out some pretty impressive notes. I am sure our neighbors loved us!
I asked this boy to give me a scary ninja face :)
He took a turn on the trumpet as well but unfortunately all his pictures were blurry, which was too bad because his face was almost as red as his hair.

27 weeks

3rd trimester! I cannot wait until I am officially DONE! I know I shouldn't whine about being pregnant so all I'll say is this: I HATE being pregnant.
There it is
But I do enjoy the babies so I guess I'll put up with how they get here.
weight gain? Too much-If I had my old doctor down in Texas he would tell me to put on my superglue lip gloss and go start walking laps around the mall. 3 more months and I have already gained almost all the weight I am suppose to.
In my defense I can't exercise so instead I eat-Hey you have to find enjoyment somewhere!
But I HATE getting weighed. I wish they would just take the scales out of the doctors office and determine if we have gained too much weight based on our blood pressure, mine of which is perfect (I can't brag about too many things so I will stick with my strengths)
The baby is moving but he has slowed WAY down. Mostly I feel him at night when he SHOULD be sleeping. I dread those early morning wake up calls.
Lastly I didn't take any pictures of our Fathers day but I will post one of my favorite pictures of the man I married. Happy Fathers day Good looking!

Family Date

"Hey boys-you want to go shooting?"
About a week ago I realized I needed to have an attitude shift. No more was I going to dream about hair ribbons and dolls (At least for now) Instead I was going to (Try) to fall in love with superheroes, big trucks, bathroom jokes and nasty bodily functions because I am in the business of raising boys. (Or as Hyrum would have you know "I'm not a boy anymore-I'm a GUY!") Luckily their daddy is about as much as a mans man as you can get. His attitudes and interests have rubbed off on these boys and they LOVE doing anything he does. So going shooting seriously got that (above pictured) kind of reaction.
I quickly threw together a "lunch" consisting of marshmallows and a big bag of chips. Their enthusiasm might have been partly a side affect of the sugar and fat coursing through their veins.

Seth and I contributed to the fun by looking at all the fun rocks everywhere. It was very exciting.

The "guys" got locked up in their car seats during the real shooting. After a few minutes of hearing some loud squeals and laughter I investigated only to find the guys ears stuffed with this:
Apparently marshmallows work just as well as earplugs.
Here I have documented Seth having a minute of patience. After that minute was up he whined until we got home.
Of course Today MD informed his daddy that real superheroes use swords not guns. He then used his pirate sword to chop off his daddy's legs to prove his point.

Blueberry Muffin Anyone?

Since Hyrum is constantly asking me if he can help me, I end up with a lot of "help" baking these days. Sometimes I get a little more creative (Usually when I have a little more energy:) and come up with some chore. However since I am not allowed to do much besides baking I have to stick to teaching them the basics. And yes, Bluberry muffins during blueberry season is a basic! This batch was made almost exclusively by this boy. Impressed they turned out? So was I :)
"Mom watch me! I'm shooting my lasers!" Can I just say how much I HATE this costume!!! He has a couple of other superman costumes but he always comes back to this one-Hence it's thrashed condition.
Showing me how awesome he is at being the army superhero. One of his biggest concerns these days is that people won't recognize who he is. (An army guy.)

Seth passed the time by practicing his body art
He was pretty good at it
I have to admit that baking these days has had a calming influence on me. I get a bit cranky when I have nothing to do and I have struggled with this idea that I am barely allowed to do ANYTHING.  I can't really eat anything so I live on Michael's comments and they give me a strange thrill when he tells me how good something is. (The blueberry muffins got 2 thumbs up) I am looking forward to a time-say 6 months from now-when I get to resume some of my previous hobbies, but at least my fridge is getting pretty well stocked with baked goods!

The Beginning of Summer

For some reason I have the Lyrics to Greases "Summer Lovin' Had me a blast"  going through my head as I work on this post. But I actually hate that movie and only that single phrase of that song is all that is relevant to the beginning of our summer. But really this summer we are having a blast. Mr. MD is starting school in a few months and the beginning of responsibility in his life. Poor boy, already has schoolwork before school even starts, but he is taking it like a champ!

Of course I think it helps that the rest of the time he has plenty to do to distract himself.
Our newest "hangout" spot is the splash pad about 5 miles away.

I also have a lot of time to work on projects I usually don't have time for-like building up the boys costume collections. I asked the boys to pose for me and giggled as I watched their many "moves" (That's what they called them)
This kid is dressed as Wesley off "the Princess Bride"

Seth just enjoys being outside on our porch. Any time the front door opens he sprints outside and sits in this car

The boys started swim lessons

That look pretty much stays on his face! This kid loves swimming so much he was begging me to fill up our bathtub so he could practice swimming at home.
