Pictures of the last few weeks

Here are some of the things we have been up to.
MD discovered he liked Pop Tarts. Unfortunately for him they are only treats he gets every once in awhile

MD got into my Makeup AGAIN! and decided to mark up his face with my eyeliner.

I tried to get a picture of MD with his arm around Hyrum. Hyrum looks a little scared....

As soon as my hand was away MD ripped his arm out from under Hyrum

I got my Hair cut! I really like it this short which really surprises me. Sorry I only got half of you in the picture Hyrum!

Pictures to send to Michael

Michael has been asking me for a lot of pictures with both kids and me. I am not too great at taking pictures while holding both boys and the camera, but luckily Meg came and snapped a few.

My attempts:
Megs picture (Thank you Meg)Unfortunately Michael started crying almost immediately. I guess it makes the picture more realistic :)

little bit of everything

WAHOO!!! I ran 4 miles today and it felt WONDERFUL! I am excited to be 1/3 of the way to reaching my 1/2 marathon goal.
Some quick Kiddo updates:
MD: He is terrified of kittens. I found this out when we found that the stray cat that my parents had been coaxing to stay and kill rodents was apparently pregnant (No one knew-she looked half starving) Then a couple of days ago my dad showed us the kittens-who were six weeks old. Michael saw them and watched them curiously and then started screeching and bolted into my arms when the first 6 week old kitten started crawling towards him. I tried to show him that the kitty was safe but as soon as that little kitten started crawling towards MD again he started running and pulling me with him.

Oh he also knows what the fingernail clippers do-He tried to practice on me.
and a cute picture: after church he was WORN OUT!!! I hadn't been away from him for 2 minutes before he crashed.
Hyrum:
Well he is growing at a remarkable rate-I had to pull out my 3 to 6 month clothes where I found....A Sailor suit! So that was he wore today and of course I had to take pictures!

And here is a picture of my sister Shannon who came off her mission last week! (Haha thats what you get for playing with my camera Shannon!!! Love you!) It has been WONDERFUL having her home!

I finally caught a good picture of Hyrum smiling. He is also starting to coo and the combination of the two are so stinkin cute!

Today was a cleaning day and so I went through the house, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing.. (Listing everything I do makes me feel more productive :) I love the after feeling of getting things done and the smell of a clean house. Today I was remaking my bed and I pushed all my bedding onto the floor to tuck my sheets into the mattress-MD saw the pile and went nuts. He jumped, dived and rolled all over that pile. I finally decided to let him play as long as he wanted and I went and cleaned somewhere else.

I tried to take a family picture....

Grandkid FHE

On Monday Mom called me to tell me that this Monday they were having a "Grand kid FHE" and wanted me to bring the boys. It was A LOT of fun. It turned out to be centered along the theme of Dinosaurs. We sang songs where we STOMPED like a dinosaur, had contests where we ROARED like a dinosaur and then we played games where we hunted for dinosaurs and Pinned the bandade on the head Dinosaur (which turned out to be dad) For the games we divided up into 4 teams: Team Gavinosourus, Team Michaelsourus, Team AtticusRex, and Team AstroidJane. It was a fun night! Here are some of the highlights of the evening :)
-Lots of Pictures ahead-

"Hunting" for the dinosaurs-All the grandkids had an adult assigned to help them look-however only the grandkid could remove the dinosaur.

Some Adult cheated here and got a dinosaur!
Team AtticusRex collected the most dinosaurs.

Here is Ammon Pinning the Bandade on the "dinosaur" who would not cooperate with anyone unless they were on his team.

Gavin getting into Character

Here Gavin was roaring and making a Dinosaur face. You can tell by his neck how hard he was trying :)
All the kids with there Dinosaur medals.
And then on to home to where my own little dinosaur went to bed exhausted.

Sergeant Huish

Michael has been promoted! He is now a Sergeant and that means more money and more responsibility. He really deserves this and I am so proud of him. I love you Michael!

Blog Vomiting

I never mean to do this, but it happens almost everytime I get on to blog-I post 3 or 4 posts! What amazes me is that throughout the week I can't think of anything to post about and then when I do think of something I remember everything else I had forgotten!

Anyway I had not known when I had married Michael that we would become a family of nicknames. I thought actually that we wouldn't because Michael was adamant about naming our children the names that we would call them-in other words the first name was what they would be known by. However that is not the case these days. Michael Dunn has now become MD, McJiggers, and The Main Michael Man. I call Michael babe and he calls me Lover beans (Used to be lover of the beans which I think was a spin off of a veggie tales movie-Lord of the Beans)

When we decided to name our second son Hyrum, I couldn't think of anything else to call him besides his name. With Michael Dunn it just came naturally to make little names for him. So when people asked if we would call Hyrum HJ i looked at them like they were crazy-HJ???? that doesn't flow like MD! besides I don't really want to become a family of initials. So Hyrum has been Hyrum for the majority of his life..until recently. My mom came up with this nickname and it has kind of stuck. Enter Humpty Dumpty.
So now we are known as: Babe, Lover Beans, McJiggers and Humpty Dumpty...hmmm maybe we WILL shorten that to HD :)

The older MD gets the more he cracks me up and the more I fall in love with him. He is feisty, demanding, and sweet! Sometimes i get caught up int the demanding aspect of his personality and forget all the sweet things that he does-I had another experience where he saw me crying and came and brought me his blanket and hugged me. He also is learning so much that I can't even keep up with everything new he does. The other night we had a girls night and we were eating popcorn. I had to bring the kiddos with me and in some ways it was good I did! MD provided me with lots of entertainment. He would grab handfuls of the popcorn then throw it onto the floor until we moved the bowls out of his reach. He then stood in front of the people with popcorn and would stare at them until they would give him one. He then would bring me the popcorn and feed it to me. Then back in front of the person with popcorn to stare them down until he received another piece. He ended up feeding me 5 or 6 kernels before I guess he decided I had had enough-and then he brought me a rag and started wiping my face. I started laughing then! Thats what we do when we finish eating!

It's always fun when Grandpa Comes

Wow I will always look back at the time I lived in my parents backyard as a magical time for my kids. It is so wonderful to have family and friends so close and to be able let my children run outside with cousins and play with the Grandparents. Yesterday evening I took MD and Hyrum outside so I could relax and read while MD ran off some of his pent up energy. As soon as we walked into the garden area we saw Grandpa watering. I knew as soon as MD saw him that we were in for a treat. After about a minute I heard MD start shrieking with laughter and saw his grandpa spraying him with the hose. To add to the excitement Jenny and Clayton joined us outside after a couple of minutes. Michael was in Heaven! He was wet, had Grandpas attention and Clayton to play with. He would have played all night if I had let him. All we needed was some watermelon and we would have had a party! It makes me sad to think that we might not live by family in the future because living so close is such a treat.
